FAQ: I have created some web pages. How can I publish them in the Internet?

To publish your web pages in the Internet, please do the following:

1. You have to apply for an UNIX account on UNIX server to publish your own personal web pages.
2. Once your UNIX account is ready, you can use SFTP software (e.g., WinSCP) to transfer your web pages to your UNIX Home Directory, which is used to store your web pages in UNIX and allows you to publish your web pages in Internet. For details of transferring your web pages to your UNIX Home Directory, please refer to Publishing Web Pages in EdUHK.

Note:

• Our Personal Web Server is https://home.eduhk.hk.
• The URL for your personal home page is http://home.eduhk.hk/~username.
• Path to store your web pages is /~username/public_html in sun.eduhk.hk (for staff) or moon.eduhk.hk (for students).
• You have a disk quota of 10M bytes for your UNIX account.
