OCIO manages an OMR (optical mark reader) room to provide OMR service to the staff members. The service is used for processing examinations, programme evaluations as well as general purpose surveys which use the University's standard multiple choice answer sheets for marking answers.
OMR Facilities & Answer Sheets
The OMR room is located in D2-LP-06, which has equipped with a Scantron iNSIGHT 4ES high speed optical mark reader. To use the OMR service, users are required to book the room through iBooking (EdUHK system, opens in new tab) in advance. The University has standard multiple choice answer sheets for examination and survey use. The OMR will scan the markings on the answer sheets and record the scanned results in a text file for further analysis and processing by the staff members.
