Microsoft has launched a new licensing subscription program in March 2011 for academic institutions called "Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES)" which is similar to the previous Microsoft Campus Agreement. With the effort of the Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC), the EES program has been made available to all the UGC-funded tertiary institutions, and EdUHK has joined this new program with effect from 1 July 2011.
The EES Program
The EES program is a licensing scheme offered by Microsoft to all tertiary education institutions enabling them to use most of the common Microsoft desktop products (list shown below). With the program, EdUHK has the right to:
- install the licensed Microsoft software in all Institute-owned computers in the campus for use by staff and students
- use any versions of the licensed software
- use more than one language version for some of the software packages
- upgrade to the latest available version
- allow STAFF to use the licensed software in a personally-owned device (for work-related purposes only)
